Our Story

We’re Elen and Dylan Bowen, the husband‑and‑wife team behind Bowen Jewellery. Our journey began in 2023, when Elen, who had always felt most at home with a sketchbook or sewing machine, started experimenting with jewellery at our kitchen table.

Today, our workshop sits in the heart of rural West Wales, where the rolling hills and the nearby beaches of Cardigan Bay inspire much of her work.

A Partnership - in all ways

Although Elen studied textiles & art, she pursued a career in primary education—graduating with honours in 2015—her love of crafting never left her. Late nights at the kitchen table turned into a passion project, and eventually into a full‑time career.

Elen’s pieces reflect her background in both art and teaching. Each design is carefully planned and hand‑crafted, blending traditional goldsmithing techniques with contemporary artistry. She credits the breathtaking West Wales landscape with fuelling her creativity- subtle textures, organic forms and coastal hues often find their way into her rings, necklaces and earrings. Starting as a self‑taught jeweller has kept Elen grounded in the “why” behind every piece: to create objects that carry meaning and last a lifetime.

As the business grew, Dylan—an engineer by trade—began to lend a hand. His eye for precision and problem‑solving was the perfect complement to Elen’s creative instincts. Dylan now looks after the technical side of our work: designing complex settings, running computer‑aided‑design (CAD) programmes and ensuring each piece is structurally sound.

His contributions allow us to push creative boundaries while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship. What began as Elen’s solo endeavour is now truly a partnership, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
